I saw on a signpost " Bet with what you Can Afford to loose", it was a slogan of a sport betting company, I smiled because it was food for thoughts, believing every sane person will stop, think before falling prey to the captivating points on that white paper.
Although many don't see the slogan as something very important, going by the fact that it was painstaking research and conviction of a win that brought the games, defying any discouragement of a lose even with obvious analysis by colleagues.
For those who do not do football, but envisage an Eket where the pangs of the people will be felt and dividends of democracy will be recieved, a sure win has plyed out in Eket political den, which evoke the reminiscing of the (Atlantic Bet) slogan. It is a forecast that won't fail, I call it the "The Best Bet"
He doesn't need introduction, both in the political arena and in the face of humanity.
Hon. Frank Archibong, known by all to be a philanthropist per excellence, with the requisite credentials and sterling abilities to deliver on given mandate.
In the face of the electorates, Hon. Frank has deposited an ideology of self- actualization and independency through the provisos of required technicality, knowledge and skills to meet job openings, towing the line of His Excellency, Mr. Udom Emmanuel.
As Transition Chairman, Frank layed a foundation that archived him in the league of historians, who utilised given privilege for the good of the people.
His visions from inception is to alleviate the menace of mental and physical poverty that had eaten deep into the fabric of the polity, which is why youths were trained in diverse fields, trade and skills, women were empowered in skills aquisition; bead making, cake making, makeups, etc. and also given starter packs to drive their ganered ability.
I don' know if Eket people are aware that before his resignation to contest for the elected office, Frank signed a pact with ExxonMobil; a pact that will bring to bear strict adherence to local content law even by contracting firms, and will at the end tackle the problem of unemployment in the society as indigenes will be a priority during employments.
Ask me of a leader and I will show you an archetype of a competent, trusted and reliable one in the person of Frank Archibong; simple, enduring and accomodating.
Although critics will not fail to find fault in other to butress their criticism, forgetting every leader is encompassed with scary challenges, that which the physical eyes can't see and understand, but the truth remains lucid, every of their criticism gives Frank Archibong an opportunity to improvise.
I have checked the opposition party (APC), I have seen their choice of contender, popular yet lacking. I have concluded that it is Uhuru for Frank as the clock ticks to Dec. 2, because he has already dwarfed the APC with his gift of gap in leadership.
Let Eket arise in Unison and be FRANK, for in being FRANK, Eket shall be a better place to dwell in.
